About Me

Professional Background

I am a native of Petal, MS and lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast from 2011-2021.  I obtained my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2009, and received my Master's degree in Child and Adolescent Therapy from William Carey University in 2012. My professional experience consists of working as an adult services case manager in 2009 and a family, adolescent, and child clinician from 2012-2015.  I worked closely with DHS and the Harrison County Youth Court during this time.  In 2017, I worked as a Military Family Life Counselor and provided services to the children, families, and service members in the U.S. Navy.  I opened my private practice in June of 2015 and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (#1984) and board-qualified supervior for the State of Mississippi and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for the State of Florida (#MH19066). I completed an additional year of specialized training through the Holistic Arts Institute to introduce holistic health and wellness techniques into therapy with my clients.  I am a Board-Certified Holistic Health Practitioner through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners a 200-hour Certified Yoga Teacher, and a Board-Certified Telehealth Provider.

Therapeutic Approach

I offer a holistic, solution-focused approach with my clients, and I often utilize Internal Family Systems, Transpersonal Psychology, Inner Child and Shadow work, and discuss spirituality and existential topics, as needed.  I am dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ and transgender community, and I have always strived to make my services readily available to anyone within this demographic.  I provide support, respect, and encouragement for ALL people, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, and religion.  I believe that therapy is essential, and no one should have to feel that they do not have access to support.

Personal

I am a proud part of the LGBTQ+ community, and I reside in Casselberry, FL, with my partner and our pets.  I am working toward my PhD in Mind Body Medicine and Applied Psychophysiology at Saybrook University. I enjoy international travel, summiting mountains, and collecting house plants.  Yoga and meditation are necessary in my personal life, and I enjoy introducing my clients to these deeply healing techniques and philosophies.
